Aitkin/Crosby Us TOO Chapter

May Meeting Information

Adult and Pediatric Urology (APU) in partnership with Cuyuna Regional Medical Center and Riverwood Healthcare Center will host an Us TOO prostate cancer support group meeting on May 10 in Crosby. The group will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at Heartwood Senior Living Community, 500 Heartwood Drive, Crosby.

The Aitkin-Crosby Us TOO Prostate Cancer Support Group is part of the international Us TOO organization that helps men and their families with free information, materials and peer-to-peer support so they can make informed choices on detection, treatment options and coping with ongoing survivorship. Cindy Hauser, local APU nurse practitioner who cares for urology patients in Aitkin and Crosby, is facilitating the support group. An educational presentation will be led by Dr. Shawn McGee, APU urologist who also cares for patients in Aitkin and Crosby. In addition to the presentation, there will be time for voluntary individual introductions, sharing and a question-and-answer period. Spouses and partners of prostate cancer patients are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

Registration is not required to attend the May 10 Us TOO Prostate Cancer Support Group meeting. Contact Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Education Department at (218) 546-2342 or education@cuyunamed.org for more information.

Us TOO
International is a prostate cancer organization that helps men and their families with free information, materials and peer-to-peer support so they can make informed choices on detection, treatment options and coping with ongoing survivorship.

Adult & Pediatric Urology has supported successful groups in St. Cloud & Little Falls, MN and is now bringing the benefits of a local chapter to your area!

The group will be led by local men affected by prostate cancer as well as Dr. Shawn McGee and Cindy Hauser, CNP, from Adult & Pediatric Urology.

Each month we will focus on a different topic - anything from special guests to healthy living tips to national prostate cancer developments.  There is also a time for voluntary individual introductions, sharing and Q&A.  Spouses and partners are also welcome to attend.

The Aitkin/Crosby chapter meetings will typically take place bi-monthly on the 4th Thursday of the month and will alternate locations.  For up to date information watch for future mailings or visit the News & Events tab on our website at www.apumn.com.

If you have questions please contact Cindy or Nancy at the Aitkin or Crosby clinics. To learn more about the national Us TOO Prostate Cancer Education and Support Network please visit their website at www.ustoo.org.

Sincerely,

Shawn M. McGee, M.D.
